The Why Behind the Edit: A Lightroom Workshop
Editing isn’t about what you can do—it’s about what you choose to do.
This session shifts from mechanics to meaning. Using Adobe Lightroom, we’ll focus on when and why to make specific editing decisions so your images communicate clearly and intentionally.
You’ll learn how to:
- Guide the viewer’s attention through light, contrast, and color
- Refine composition during the editing process
- Translate artistic intent into deliberate adjustments
- Develop a consistent visual style
We’ll be building a collaborative environment, where everyone is encouraged to share what they’re seeing, contribute ideas, and—if you’re feeling bold—step in and help shape an edit.
Live image critique and editing will be a central part of the experience, helping you recognize what matters—and how to bring it forward.
Image submissions:
To get the most out of the workshop, bring a few images on a thumb drive. While you’re welcome to submit your best work, you’ll often gain more by bringing images that feel average or challenging—those are where the biggest breakthroughs happen.
Name your files in order of priority (1, 2, 3…). Please arrive early to load them.
